In fact, we invest $800 million each year into the development of new technology and new processes, and we are considered the foremost global leaders in each of our core technologies that include absorbency, fibers and nonwovens. We're expanding our capabilities to include skin care/treatment, infection control, sensors/diagnostics, functional packaging as well as environmental sustainability. Our corporate innovation and business unit product and technology development professionals, which include the traditional research and engineering disciplines, have access to the resources and tools within an environment that fosters excellence and risk-taking.
For research and development positions, K-C recruits Bachelor of Science and Master of Science graduates in apparel design, biochemistry, biology, chemical engineering, chemistry, material science and polymer science, as well as doctoral graduates in chemistry, material science, microbiology, physical chemistry, pulp and paper chemistry, and textile chemistry. Engineering opportunities require a Bachelor of Science or higher degree in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, paper science and engineering, or related fields.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING |

You will be contributing from day one, working and learning as a team member along with a project leader, other research and engineering professionals, and technicians. Your project team will pursue assignments with a focus on rapid innovation, design of total solutions and premium product quality. Together, you will develop new products as well as plan and implement product improvements for some of the world's most famous brands.
Because fresh, new, original ideas enhance your professional success as well as our business performance, all K-C research and engineering professionals are encouraged to use ten percent of their time to pursue individual ideas, plans and projects. This is innovation time. As an integral part of your job, this time is as valuable as the time and ability devoted to formal research and engineering assignments.

research scientist - Discovers and creates superior proprietary materials and products that generate or improve business opportunities and meet changing market requirements. Explores and evaluates existing and emerging science and technology.
mechanical engineer - Works on development, design, application, project management and troubleshooting to test and support equipment for manufacturing.
electrical engineer - Concentrates on application engineering in technologies such as programmable servo drives, distributed control systems with network communications, sensor development for quality control and high-speed integrated process equipment.
