human resources (generalist ) - Performs many of the duties associated with the other sub-functions shown below. For example, a mill HR generalist might be involved in employee relations, helping to resolve issues of unfairness, miscommunication or conflict. Or, a generalist might be involved in recruiting, compensation planning and training.
labor relations (specialist ) - Establishes and maintains sound union-management relations, and participates in activities such as labor agreement negotiations and dispute resolution where the company's workforce is represented by labor unions.
