P&TD employees interpret customer needs into viable solutions, working with marketing to improve the performance of our existing products, and offering technical support and advice to customers and colleagues responsible for sales and distribution.

The roles include:

• Product developers – who act as a bridge between manufacturing and marketing, working on technical product developments (materials, product safety, etc) over the lifetime of a product.
• Packaging support – who are responsible for innovation and adding value to all aspects of packaging (format, strength, weight, materials used, imagery, branding, etc).
• Process developers – who support manufacturing by exploring and developing new processes and systems, and upgrading equipment.

A good degree in a practical science, technology or engineering-based discipline (such as chemical, biochemical or physical sciences, mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering, materials technology) provides evidence of the skills we look for: an enquiring mind and discipline. A PhD can be useful for higher-level roles.

There is scope to develop a technical career within many of Kimberly-Clark’s business functions and regions. You could also be considered for product supply or category management roles, or work on the consumer side of the business. Read more about career development here.
