PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT |
 |
 |
At Kimberly-Clark, performance management, part of our overall talent management strategy, is an important, company-wide process.
It helps us to:
- Improve performance and focus across the company.
- Ensure individual objectives tie in with our overall business goals.
- ensure everyone is responsible and accountable for what they do.
- Offer coaching and feedback.
- Identify and reward good performance.
Team leaders sit down with each team member four times a year informally to review their performance and discuss changing objectives. There is also a web-based 360-degree feedback system that enables employees to contribute information to their colleagues’ reviews.
Leadership qualities
At Kimberly-Clark, everyone is expected to display leadership. So to provide a clear understanding of what successful leadership looks like, we’ve developed six ‘leadership qualities’.
These qualities empower everyone to learn and to lead. It is up to each of us to determine how they apply to our own role, giving everyone at Kimberly-Clark more control over their performance, development and careers.
Our leadership qualities are:
- Visionary – making the future visible and reachable.
- Inspirational – inspiring people to reach their full potential.
- Innovative – turning today’s possibilities into new capabilities.
- Decisive – transforming discussion into action.
- Collaborative – reaching out and forging teams across boundaries.
- Building talent – finding, developing and retaining talent that makes our company stronger.
Employees review their own performance against these qualities in quarterly discussions with their team leaders, and also in annual performance assessments.
