More than a half-century of taking care and giving care

The Kimberly-Clark Foundation, established in 1952, carries out our philosophy of charitable giving, which is based on our promise to be a good employer, a good neighbor, and to support causes that strengthen the world's families.

The K-C Foundation, together with the company and our employees, responds to causes and programs with financial contributions, K-C product donations and volunteer time. The answer could be diapers for thousands of Sri Lankan babies whose homes were destroyed by a terrifying tsunami. It could be basic care and education for third-world children who become orphaned after losing one or both parents to HIV/AIDS. Or it may be education programs and resources for American parents that help strengthen families.

Over the past two years, K-C and our employees contributed approximately $52 million for charitable causes worldwide. As part of that amount, the K-C Foundation matched almost $2.8 million in employee giving, and awarded almost $2.4 million in grants to charities where our employees or their spouses volunteered over 142,000 hours of their time. In addition, we donated more than $4.5 million worth of K-C products, mostly for disaster relief.

Guidelines for Giving
K-C has established a set of guidelines that it follows for all of its charitable endeavors.  They are as follows:

K-C Hometown Contributions
To thousands of K-Cers, giving of themselves isn't a corporate strategy, it's an extension of our spirit of caring. Each year, thousands of K-C employees worldwide devote their time, talent and financial resources to support community events, local and international causes and disaster relief efforts.

The K-C hometowns where we operate are made better through the special talents and generosity of our people. By matching corporate resources to our employees' hands-on efforts, we recognize the commitment and leadership that our people bring to their communities.

In the cities where K-C has operations, requests for contributions may be sent to the K-C site manager's attention. All decisions are made locally, not at a corporate level or by the K-C Foundation.

Requests which would not be considered:
  • Support for individuals.
  • Request for scholarships.
  • Product donations, except for disaster relief.
  • Donations for religious or political purposes.
  • Contributions to organizations other than those granted 501(c) 3 status by the Internal Revenue Service.
  • Requests from organizations outside the communities where our employees live and work.
National and International Contributions
Kimberly-Clark Corporation and the Kimberly-Clark Foundation have created successful partnerships with national charitable organizations that share our dedication to improving the health and well-being of the world's families, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, UNICEF, United Way of America and YMCA of the USA.

Due to the large number of requests, we are not able to consider unsolicited requests for national or international contributions.
