Kimberly-Clark's Huggies® Little Swimmers® Supports YMCA Parent/Child Aquatics Classes in Underserved Communities
As part of its commitment to support families, Kimberly-Clark's Huggies® Little Swimmers® brand contributed $100,000 in grants earlier this year to support the YMCA’s Parent/Child Aquatic Enrichment Program, extending the health benefits of swimming to those in underserved communities nationwide. Designed for parents with children ages 6- to 36-months-old, the program teaches water adjustment and safety while providing quality active time together for the children and their parents.

The YMCA has a long history of teaching people to swim. Just over half of the nation’s YMCAs offer parent/child-specific swim classes, and the Kimberly-Clark grant has allowed 100 YMCAs to either implement parent/child aquatic programs or greatly increase their outreach efforts.

“YMCA parent/child aquatic programs provide parents with vital water safety information, as well as the opportunity to promote a fun and active lifestyle to their children,” said Mike Eubank, aquatics specialist, YMCA of the USA. “The classes also give parents the chance to socialize, make new friends and learn from other parents.”

Huggies Little Swimmers is the number-one brand of disposable swimpants and an innovative solution for parents who want to share water activities with their children. The product enhances the health and hygiene of children by providing safe and effective protection while they are active in the water. With stretchy sides for a comfortable fit, tear-away closures that make changing easy, special leak guards and a no-swell design, Huggies Little Swimmers allow children and parents to enjoy the water without worry. First launched in North America, Little Swimmers swimpants are now available in more than 50 countries around the world.

"With this grant, Kimberly-Clark has paired its commitment to promoting the well-being of families with Huggies Little Swimmers’ efforts to help parents share the joy of swimming with their children," said Bob Thibault, president, Kimberly-Clark Personal Care Marketing. "We hope this grant helps implement and enhance parent-child swim classes in underserved communities that otherwise could not offer these services."
