Kimberly-Clark employees develop appreciation for their own way of life and empathy for Malawians while developing leadership skills

Six Kimberly-Clark employees from Europe recently were put through their paces in The Times Leadership Challenge, a program designed to develop tomorrow’s leaders in a competitive environment based around a series of tasks and challenges. Comprising three separate stages, only the best teams make it to the final, with criteria including demonstration of true leadership behaviors, continuous improvement and an instructor belief that the teams can be pushed long and hard.

The Times Leadership Challenge is not only a dynamic and demanding learning experience, but it also has a strong corporate social responsibility component. It works with local organizations to leave a sustainable legacy for the future – in the case of the most recent event it involved the expansion and renovation of a school that will benefit hundreds of Malawian children.

Assembled from various departments including Research and Engineering, Marketing, and Sourcing and Supply Chain, and a variety of K-C Europe locations, the team completed the preliminary stages and semi-finals and duly earned their place in the final in Malawi, Africa. Our Kimberly-Clark employees had the experience of a lifetime, both from a leadership and lifestyle perspective, while demonstrating their commitment to outstanding leadership and corporate responsibility.

The Kimberly-Clark team was crowned champions of this year’s Time Leadership Challenge and has recorded its thoughts and memories from the experience in Malawi which you can read more about here.
