K-C has earned impressive accolades from some of the country's most respected authorities on corporate citizenship and community leadership including:
BCLC's Corporate Citizenship Awards recognize businesses, trade associations, chambers of commerce, and partner organizations for demonstrating ethical leadership, corporate stewardship and for making a positive difference in society. The International Community Service Award honors a business or American Chamber of Commerce overseas that has exemplified the ideals of corporate citizenship through a specific community service program outside of the U.S., promoting better corporate-community relations and contributing to the positive development of its host country.
In 2006, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Business Civic Leadership Center (BCLC) recognized Kimberly-Clark with an international community service award that honored K-C's partnership with UNICEF and the work done together to help protect and care for children orphaned and made vulnerable by the AIDS pandemic worldwide.
Kimberly-Clarkâs pledge of $5.2 million allowed UNICEF to provide 350,000 children orphaned or made vulnerable by AIDS in 24 countries with life-saving supplies and healthcare, education and skills training. Kimberly-Clark's donation also supported programs that prevent violence and child exploitation, combat negative social stigmas and discrimination, and encourage HIV testing.
